Executive Director’s Report
Well, we at the Phoenix SCI/D Clinic will begin a new road without
Mrs. Bobbie Anderson. An 18-year advocate, supporter, and an
intricate piece of the Clinic’s superior results for our Veterans. It will
be an interesting road to see if she can be replaced or even
somewhat substituted for. Good luck to her replacement. Thank you,
Bobbie, for all the extra effort.
The buildings are starting to be rehabbed. It is amusing to tell a
contractor that you want five tubs replaced: preferably at one time.
Especially by 5 roll in showers. We are hoping to work with the VA
and find Veterans in need as we are about a mile from the Phoenix
VA door.
As usual we are behind on equipment pick up and everyone cleaned
out their homes and want free rides for their extra furniture and 10-
year-old equipment that has been left outside. Then there are those
that deliver new medical equipment to the front door. Some days are
just better than others.
We have a Chapter Board of Directors election coming up. The
pandemic is slowing down, and we’d like to get your opinion or
regular input on the Chapter events. There is no better way that to be
a Board participant or at least vote for someone who you believe will
do a good job.
If these two ideas don’t interest you have you ever considered talking
to other chair users and see if they would like some help or
companionship? Many Veterans don’t know they are eligible for VA
Services and you can help them. You can help your fellow Vets and
we might get people who are interested in what PVA has done in the
last 76 years.
It's getting hot
