Originally constructed as a saddler's shop, the building began postal service
to the community circa 1900 until it was closed in 1969. In the early 1970's
14 William Hambrick had the building restored and moved to the current location.
His daughters donated the post office to the Glenn Springs Preservation Society
in 2015. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In the 1870s a small group of Presbyterians began meeting in the parlor of the Glenn
Springs Hotel with Rev. A.A. James. They constructed a small clapboard church on
Boys Home Road and on May 19, 1883, chartered as the Glenn Springs Presbyterian

Church. This Gothic style stone church was constructed by them in 1908 and is made
of cement blocks molded on site. The wooden building next to the church, originally
the Cates Store, was used as a Sunday School Building from 1938 until the church
built its current location on Highway 215 and moved there in 1961. This property
15 reverted to the original owners, the Cates Family. In 2007 the Glenn Springs
Preservation Society chartered with the purpose of restoring this and other historic
structures, as well as preserving oral and written histories and memorabilia from the

area. They purchased this property in 2013. Completing the restoration in 2017, the
old stone church is now an event and community center. The first telephone line in
Old Stone Church & Cates Building Spartanburg County ran from Main Street Spartanburg to the Cates Building in Glenn

3700 Glenn Springs Rd. Springs. Both of these buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

John Conrad Zimmerman built this Greek Revival home in 1854. A successful famer
and vast land owner, Zimmerman was a popular owner and proprietor of the famed
Glenn Springs hotel. Rosemount was built in a U-shaped plan having large two-tier

porticos with Doric columns of the northeast and northwest elevations. Windows
16 have four-over-four sash and louvered shutters. To the northwest of the house is a
brick wellhouse with stuccoed brick arches. Downspouts at the front of the house
feature the date 1854. In September, 1939, W. Dupre Gregory purchased the house
from the children and grandchildren of Charles Zimmerman. It had been vacant for

Rosemount some time and was used to store grain. The house is listed on the National Register
3701 Glenn Springs Rd. of Historic Places.
