DESCRIPTION, CYKD: TAKE-HOME ASSIGNMENT & IN CLASS QUESTIONS
þ In-class assessment: The exams/quizzes will ask students to demonstrate their knowledge and
understanding of a particular topic. Furthermore, the quizzes may include other types of question formats,
including True/False, fill-in and multiple choices.
þ Take-home assessment:
v Students will discuss and write their responses to the assigned questions. Each student is expected to read,
keep a professional journal on the assigned materials, e.g., readings, discussion mini-cases, and/or critical
thinking questions.
v The analyses will be graded on organization (applying appropriate frameworks), using context appropriate
support, usage, and grammar.
v Each student (not the facilitator) will complete a class reflection/reading journal.
WINTER TERM II 2025 TAKE-HOME ASSESSMENT JOURNAL:
1. CASE QUESTIONS: For example, each student is required to complete the two written responses*
(short essay/sentence format) to the assigned textbook chapter/case questions. You will be assigned
“odd or even question numbers. Please apply the key concepts from your reading to support your
response. You may also use additional resources/ references to support your thought and opinion.
â FYI: Essay question defined as: an examination question that requires an answer in a sentence, paragraph, or short composition.
2. TEXTBOOK READING: Select four key concepts/terms (cite source / APA) from your assigned
chapter reading and define / discuss in your take-home assessment/journal entry.
3. BOOK CLUB: Select four key concepts / terms (cite source / APA) from your assigned book club
chapter reading.
4. TEAM TERM PROJECT UPDATES: Provide updates weekly or bi-weekly on what you and your
fellow team member have completed for your team term project. You may provide your notes, key
terms used for the term project.
þ Missed assignments cannot be made up. Students with a valid excuse (e.g., medical) for missing an exam may
make-up an exam by arrangement. Students who miss an exam deadline without an acceptable excuse will
receive a zero.
