FALL TERM I 2024• BRAND MANAGEMENT • FSH MKT 3300 • 555
Alison M. Wolfe MBA, MS, PhD, Professor
7. ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN EVERY CLASS.
þ Three unexcused absences for whatever reason are viewed as excessive, and the student will be so informed.
No penalty on your grade.
þ Note, if you miss four classes without a legitimate excuse, (e.g., medical, EC mandatory event), your course grade will drop 1/2
letter grade.
þ Note, if you miss five classes without a legitimate excuse, (e.g., medical, EC mandatory event), your course grade will drop one-full
letter grade.
þ Missing six absences without a legitimate excuse will prompt the instructor to require that the student withdraw from the class
and receive a grade of WF.
þ ARRIVING LATE, LEAVING CLASS FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, AND/OR LEAVING EARLY IS NOT
ACCEPTABLE. The class environment will adhere to proper business etiquette. Leaving class is equivalent to one unexcused
absence. Please plan on staying in the entire class session.
þ Note, if you are late for class without a legitimate excuse three times, the third late arrivals will be an equivalent of one un-
excused absence.
þ LIVE and/or ZOOM® virtual meetings. Students will be considered absent if they cannot be
seen/actively engaged in the class sessions. If we have a virtual session, students must have
ZOOM® camera “on” for the full session. Zoom camera must show your entire face.
þ IMPORTANT: Hoodies/hats covering a student’s face in-class sessions and/or on a Zoom
session are unprofessional and are considered unacceptable.
þ Please note one of the secrets of business success is to get there on time. And showing up.
Research has found that absenteeism predicts low grades. If you can't commit to attending class, drop this course
immediately to avoid the unpleasant experience of failing.
8. Full-course meals (e.g., breakfast foods and lunches) are STRONGLY DISCOURAGED during class session
unless for medical/health reasons. Students are permitted to bring a snack and/or drink to the session.
9. Students are expected to dress in “business professional attire” for all in-class presentations, guest speakers,
and/or other specific “business-professional” events announced by our instructor. Below some notes for you
to consider:
þ Professional “smart” business attire expected for the term project/facilitator presentations.
þ Special comments: regarding class presentations: Baseball hats, jeans, hoodies, t-shirts, chewing gum, short-short skirts, yoga/leggings,
skimpy/tight attire -- not acceptable when you present in a business presentation.
10. This course has been created so that classmates are encouraged to work together. Enjoy debating the never-
ending issues that will arise in class or in your team projects. Please note, however, those activities such as
exams, individual projects, journals, and assignments require the student to work on an individual basis. In
those instances, looking at, copying, lending, or borrowing others' work will constitute academic dishonesty.
The penalty for students judged to have committed academic dishonesty is an "F" for the course.
