New Mark Provincial Warden of Regalia
Regalia Exchange System Launched
The Provincial Grand Master is very pleased to announce
that he has appointed W Bro Dennis Somerton as the
Province’s first ever Warden of Regalia.
W Bro Dennis will oversee a new initiative from the
Province, namely a Regalia Exchange Programme which
will hopefully allow Brethren to obtain second-hand regalia
at a much-reduced price (from the new cost) and boost the
coffers of the Province’s Charity Funds, especially
important as we head towards our MBF Festival.
If anyone has second-hand regalia that they no longer
need and are willing to donate it to the Province they
should contact W Bro Dennis who will be only too pleased to receive your
contributions. For anyone who requires Mark Regalia they should email W Bro
Dennis with a request and he will be able to respond with any suitable items
which may be available, and the size of donation required to secure them!
W Bro Dennis can be contacted using the following E Mail
regaliaexchange@somersetmarkmason.co.uk
We asked Dennis to tell us a little about his masonic journey
I was initiated into the Lodge of Agriculture no.1199 in December 2015. I had
had a traumatic 18 months before that due to the illness and death of my wife
and felt “at home” when I entered the Lodge, a feeling that has continued to
this day. The fellowship I found then helped me through a difficult patch in my
life.
Having been Raised and Passed I started to visit other lodges both within and
outside the Province in which I found a warm welcome and good fellowship. I
also discovered some of the side degrees and am also a member of the
George Norman Lodge of Mark Master Masons no. 967 and a member of the
Nailsea Royal Ark Mariners No.1548.
At present I am Senior Deacon in my Craft Lodge and Junior overseer in
Mark. I am also the secretary of the Yatton Masonic Hall.
I am extremely Honoured to be asked to take on this new role and I will try to
help you all the best I can, just let me know what you want and don’t forget I
need that old regalia to make this work.
