Always we begin again, and this year the theologydepartmentreturnedwithnewfaculty members and fresh activities. The theology facultywasjoinedbyCarrieRehakandRyanne Saddler.Themonks,theadministration,faculty members and students have made them feel very welcome in the Priory community.
Besides providing a variety of religion basedclasses,thetheologydepartmentfocused ontheserviceweekreflections.RyanneSadler, freshman theology teacher, said,”The biggest challenge any teacher faces is making curriculum relevant and meaningful to students.” The department has worked to including spirituality into
the service week activity. Sophomore student Zachary WeissenjoyedthechurchvisitsinChristianScriptures this year. He said, “I was happy to visit a church of a denominationoutsideofmyown”,andthat,“itwas funmeetingpeopleandexperiencingtheservice”.The theology department offers a wide array of topics for students to explore the many sides of religion. These courses are unique and and actively incorporate the Benedictinevalues.Teachersarecontinuously improvingandupdatingthecurriculumtomakeit interesting and relevant to students' lives and experiences. By expanding their spiritual awareness, students culminate a greater understanding of the many world views around them.
