Onwards and upwards and in the next competition we took a 2nd in front of
all those Border Collies.
Following on from these competitions we progressed to arena displays and,
after a move to Wales, Talent shows, my girl proving to be a huge hit and
receiving invitations such as being the opening act at a music festival.
Lexie was invited by the producer to appear on Britain’s Got Talent but at this
point she was 12 years old and I declined in case she had a slip on a stage
floor. We still continued with the therapy work and she taught Brownies and
Guides all about dogs and training. Lexie also amused so many children across
13 years at Discover Dogs, Crufts by choosing what rosette for them to take
home when asked “Which one?“ and tapping on a colour choice.
My girl taught me so, so much about positive training techniques, building
tasks and above all how never to look surprised when she added extra bits
to our tried and tested routines; being a Keeshond she knew better what her
public wanted. Even at 14 years she
would still want to perform her routines
I had to say a forever goodnight to her
in November 2017 when she was
fifteen and a half. My heart broke.

never lose.
All that we love deeply becomes part
of us. “ (Helen Keller)
Miss you baby girl.
