initiative Lab@Home was commenced. In its pilot phase, we partnered with National Service Scheme
Unit and Ganpati Govt. Girls High School in North Kerala, remotely guiding experiments using specially
developed kits.

The strength of IGIB lies in the coming together of scientists and research scholars coming from diverse
branches of science – biology, chemistry, medicine, computer science - and working in sync with the 15
administrative and other staff of the institute. This strength reflects in how the diversion of a
substantial portion of the institutional resources – manpower and funding – to tackle the pandemic
without losing sight of long-term research goals.
