On previous visits, I had met doctors and businessmen who had come as custom-
ers and become friends of the family. This time, there were a group of scientists!
I had never met a scientist before but loved to watch TV shows where scientists
were heroes. Heroes making dinosaurs from the DNA of extinct creatures trapped
in fossils or the ones who can figure out who the criminal was from a few strands of
hair from the crime scene.
When the scientists mentioned that they work with DNA, I was bursting with curios-
ity to ask questions. One of them was a doctor and a scientist. He gave his visiting
card to Papa and asked him to take Dadaji for a check-up to General Hospital. He
also explained that Dadaji’s symptoms were not just signs of aging. He is perhaps
suffering from a disease.
