Class 4 and 7 MOT Tester Course
This qualification is developed for those individuals who wish to become an
MOT Tester for Classes 4 and 7. Achievement of this qualification enables them
to apply to undertake DVSA demonstration test, enabling them to become a
MOT Tester for classes 4 and 7.
Eligibility
To become an MOT tester for classes 4 and 7 you must have a level 3
qualification recognised by DVSA, a current & full UK driving license for the
classes of vehicles you wish to test and a minimum of four years’ experience
working in a garage. You cannot become a tester if you have any unspent
criminal convictions for criminal offences connected with the MOT testing
scheme, the motor trade or involving acts of violence or intimidation.
Course overview
The course will cover the theory and practical training required to become an
MOT Tester. There are 5 part to the course:
- Safe working practices in the vehicle test centre
- Working relationships within the vehicle test centre
- Managing your own professional development as an MOT tester
- Carrying out pre-test checks for an MOT test
- Carrying out an MOT test.
Once you have you have completed the theory assessment, you will be able to
do your demonstration test right here with us at our fully functioning MOT
station, where you will have already done your practical training. After
completing the VT8 practical observation, you will be a qualified tester.
