VII Other Safety Improvement Works in train operations:

1. Provision of Sigma Boards ahead of STOP Signals:To
assist Loco pilots for easily identifying the STOP signals
during foggy weather conditions, Division has taken up the work
of provision of Retro reflective
SIGMA boards, ahead of the STOP signals. 120 no‟s
sigma boards were provided.

2. Provision of new earth pits:
Total 15 no.s of new earth pits are provided in SC - FMsection for improving the
earthing network in safety point of view.

3. Provision of Thimbles:

To avert the catenary strands cut inside the catenary suspension clamp at the
time of tripping with high fault currents particularly in monkey menace areas,
RDSO issued the provision thimblesin each location. Total in 418 locations
thimblesare being provided.

4. Provision of Nylon net on portals:

As per TI/MI/0050 issued by RDSO to prevent from Bird menace on Traction Installations by
provision of Nylon net inside the existing fabricated structures. 40 No. Portals/TTCs of nylon
mesh provided.

5. Total 652 No’s Tree branches trimmed due to less clearance from Live OHE.
