A word from our Executive Director

I would like to thank our customers, both members and supply partners for a great year. Your commitment to the
MHEC coupled with the support of our Board of Directors allowed us to reach new levels of contract usage and enroll-
ment. I am pleased to present the FY2018 MHEC annual report to our customers and Board of Directors. The report
includes a contract recap, summary of marketing events, audited financial statements and an overview of several new
initiatives we are planning for FY2019.
Since assuming the Executive Director’s position in July 2018, I have had the opportunity to meet with many of our cus-
tomers to discuss the role of MHEC in their procurement and supply decisions. These meetings and interactions have
been an important learning experience which will translate into, highly valued contracts and services for our customers.
The MHEC staff works diligently benchmarking existing contracts to ensure that MHEC members receive competitive
pricing from our supply partners. At the same time, we have been working to increase our outreach efforts to ensure
our customers are fully informed of the benefits of working with MHEC. One instance was this year’s EXPO at the DCU
in Worcester MA where we set an all-time high in member attendance and supply partner participation.
Our focus for FY2019 is centered on the three guiding principles of a). living our mission by striving to be the consorti-
um of choice b). remaining customer focused and c). operating as a team; members, supply partners, and MHEC staff
all working toward a common goal. Expect for us to focus on offering price-competitive contracts with suppliers that
embrace our passion for exceptional customer service and we will continue to build partnerships and collaborations
centered on projects that add value to our members. Finally, we are in the process of a comprehensive review of our IT
infrastructure with the goal of making our contract development and management process more efficient as well as
making MHEC easy to do business with.
In closing, all of us at MHEC are committed to working hard to earn and retain your business. We thank all of our mem-
bers and supply partners, long-standing and new, for their continued support.
          Sincerely,
          Michael Di Yeso

          MHEC Executive Director
