“กรมท่าอากาศยาน” เดิมใช้ช่อว่า กรมการบินพลเรือน ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2558 ได้มีพระราชกาหนดแก้ไขเพ่มเติม
พระราชบัญญัติปรับปรุงกระทรวง ทบวง กรม ให้โอนบรรดากิจการอ�านาจหน้าที่ ทรัพย์สิน งบประมาณ หนี้ สิทธ ิ
และภาระผูกพัน ในส่วนที่เป็นงานเกี่ยวกับท่าอากาศยานและส�านักพัฒนาท่าอากาศยาน กรมการบินพลเรือนไปเป็นของ
“กรมท่าอากาศยาน” กระทรวงคมนาคม โดยแบ่งแยกอ�านาจหน้าที่ระหว่างหน่วยงานที่ท�าหน้าที่กากับดูแลและหน่วยงาน

ผู้ให้บริการ และปรับปรุงโครงสร้างใหม่ ดังนี้
• แยกงานก�ากับดูแลออกเป็น “ส�านักงานการบินพลเรือนแห่งประเทศไทย”
• แยกงานเก่ยวกับการค้นหาและช่วยเหลือกรณีอากาศยานประสบภัย งานนิรภัยการบิน และงานสอบสวนหาสาเหตุ

ของอุบัติเหตุอากาศยานให้อยู่ในอ�านาจหน้าที่ของสานักงานปลัดกระทรวง กระทรวงคมนาคม รวมถึงเปล่ยนช่อกรมการบิน

พลเรือน เป็น “กรมท่าอากาศยาน” เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับงานในหน้าที่หลักที่ปรับปรุงใหม่คือ การให้บริการท่าอากาศยาน
The Department of Airports was formerly the Department of Civil Aviation. In 2015, an Emergency
Decree Amending the Reorganization of Ministry, Sub-Ministry, and Department Act prescribed the transfer
of all businesses, authority, assets, budgets, liabilities, rights and obligations associated with airport operations
as well as the Airport Development Bureau under the Department of Civil Aviation to the Department of
Airports (DOA), Ministry of Transport. The restructuring has segregated duties and authorities between
the regulator and the service provider agency as follows:
• The regulator is now the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT)
• Search and Rescue for Aircraft in Distress, Aviation Safety, and Aircraft Accident Investigation are
now under the authority of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport. The Department
of Civil Aviation was renamed the Department of Airports to accommodate its revised main missions as
an airport service provider agency.

“หงส์ยนตร์” สัญลักษณ์ของกรมท่าอากาศยานคือ รูปหงส์ยนตร์ ซ่งแปลว่า
หงส์ที่มีเคร่องกลไกออกแบบโดยกองหัตถศิลป์ กรมศิลปากร มีผู้ร่าง คือ พระพรหมพิจิตร
ื
ผู้เขียน คือ คุณโนรี รจนะศิลปิน ซึ่งได้ให้เหตุผลว่า การใช้รูปหงส์ยนตร์ เพราะหงส์เป็นนก
ในตระกูลสูง และเพื่อเป็นสิริมงคล และยนตร์ แปลว่า เครื่องกลไก เครื่องจักร จึงควรจะเป็น
เครื่องหมายพาหนะการบินของกรมฯ ต่อไป

DOA’s logo features a stylized swan mounted on a contrivance. Designed by
the Craftsmanship Division of the Fine Arts Department, it was drafted by Phra
Phrom Phichit and drawn by Mr. Noree Rojanasilapin. The swan is considered to
be an auspicious and noble bird, while the engineering component symbolizes
machinery or equipment.
