HOLMCROFT

           SCHOOL AND HOUSE

           ACTIVITIES
There are a huge range of opportunities, activities and events that students can choose to get involved in at
           Holmcroft:
           • House hardcourt
           • Astro pitches
           • Swimming Pool
           • Squash
           • Tennis
           • Gym
           • Art
           • Design
           • Music
           • Drama

Some opportunities at Millfield can be life-changing, it is a great place to discover interests and incubate lifelong
passions. If you don’t try, you may never know. There may only be a short amount of time available to make a
particular trip or to do a certain activity and, in some cases, students will never again have a time in their lives when
they can choose to do so many different things with people of their own age without the constraints that, as an
adult, they will have to deal with.

Some school events on campus will be compulsory, and it is important as part of their broader education that
students experience a range of cultural, musical, theatrical and other events whilst at Millfield. We expect the Year
10 boys and Lower Sixth to attend as many school events as possible. Year 11s and Upper Sixth can too, but we are
moving towards academic priority in these exam years.

The standards at Millfield are high. The plays, musicals, concerts, dance shows, fashion shows and art shows are all
driven by fellow students. The productions are on a par with West End shows, and all contribute to us broadening
our horizons and interests. It is also really important to support each other by being there, and having your friends
supporting you is very uplifting. If you have some pressing work, or other commitments, try to organise your time
so that you can pack everything in and meet your academic deadlines. Go and watch the events; the standards are
outstanding. Play a sport that you haven’t tried before.

Speak to people that you haven’t met before. Overcome any shyness or prejudice that you may have and be warm,
friendly, considerate and welcoming to all those you encounter.
           Do's and Don'ts:

Sign in and out - we need to know where you are, so if you are out before 7am or are going off campus, or are out
after 7pm, please use the flip board and write on the table where you are going.
If you are going off campus, (for example to Street), please use the Millfield permission app.

It is a good idea to:
           • Have all items of clothing labelled with sew on tags
           • Have two pairs of school shoes
           • Sign in and out
           • Talk to your houseparents
           • Have a coat
           • Have an umbrella
           • Use schoolsox.com for individually named socks!
