ENTERPRISE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
OVERVIEW Enterprise and entrepreneurship are at the heart of the UK’s push to boost employability,
and this exciting qualification is designed to ignite your entrepreneurial spirit. Developed
with input from the prestigious Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, this innovative course is
perfect for ambitious, forward-thinking students who are passionate about starting and
growing businesses. Equivalent to two A levels and spread across three blocks, the course
combines academic rigour with real-world insights. You will benefit from content shaped
by leading academics, as well as feedback from top employers and professional bodies,
ensuring you are ready for both higher education and immediate entry into the dynamic
world of enterprise. If you have the drive and vision to make your mark in the business

APPROACH Our students are empowered to sharpen their research skills, explore their personal
business passions, and take the initiative to thrive. Throughout the course, we offer a
wealth of exciting extracurricular activities to bring your learning to life. From high-energy
Enterprise Flash Challenges and visits to local businesses, to interactive employer
workshops, guest speakers, and enterprise competitions, every experience is designed to
inspire and engage. You will also take part in team-building days and educational trips,
gaining hands-on knowledge of the business world. Plus, you’ll have the thrilling
opportunity to launch your own mini business, guided by experience mentors and backed
by real investment, giving you a true taste of entrepreneurial success!
Assessment is divided into two main types: external and internal. External assessment,
accounting for 45% of the overall grade, consists of three units - two controlled
assessments and one examination. To pass these units, students must achieve at least a
pass grade, with one resit opportunity available during the programme. Internal
assessment involves five units, evaluated through assignments that are marked and
graded by subject tutors, offering a flexible approach to learning with continuous support
throughout the process. One of the key external examinations focuses on Business
Finance, which plays a crucial role in the overall grade. This assessment requires a solid
foundation in mathematical skills, as well as the ability to apply business ratios and
formulas effectively.
COURSE OUTLINE Students pursuing this qualification will complete six mandatory units that cover key
areas of business, including Enterprise and Entrepreneurs, Business Decision Making,
Launching and Running an Enterprise (with significant time dedicated to managing the
enterprise), Developing a Marketing Campaign, Personal and Business Finance, and
Survival and Growth. In addition, students will select two optional units, such as Social
Enterprise, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, or Intrapreneurship, allowing us to tailor their
studies to best complement their overall programme of study.
FURTHER BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is equivalent to two A levels and
INFORMATION will be graded as follows:
D*D* (equivalent to A*A* at A level) to PP (equivalent to EE at A level). UCAS points are
awarded accordingly.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS To follow the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (two A level equivalent) course students
will have achieved a minimum of 22 points from your best five GCSEs. GCSE English and
Mathematics are desirable. The Personal and Business external exam is a compulsory unit
in which an appropriate competency in mathematics will be required.
