KERNICK
WELCOME TO
KERNICK HOUSE
Welcome to Kernick house where we hope you will enjoy
living whilst being part of the Millfield community. The
Kernick team is very friendly and caring and we are all
very much looking forward to accompanying you on your
Millfield journey.
I am the Housemaster of Kernick, and I joined Millfield
in 2017. I am the Head of Spanish and help with the clay
pigeon shooting team. I was previously Housemaster of
The Grange, as well as Assistant Housemaster in Great for
two years as well as being a live-out Assistant Housemaster
in Orchards. I am determined to ensure aspirations to
academic, sporting, and extra-curricular excellence become
commonplace at Kernick. I am also joined by my partner,
Ben, who is the Head of Psychology at Millfield and a tutor
in Overleigh. We have two very excitable dogs, Rafa and
Tottie. They enjoy eating well and travelling as much as they
can during the holidays.
You will find tutors very supportive, helpful and ready to
guide you with the day to day activities. In house, the house
manager will ensure that you quickly become aware of the
ins and outs of the house daily routine to allow you to gain
independence very quickly. The Housemistress and Assistant
Housemistress will oversee your academic programme to
ensure you make regular progress whilst looking after your
general wellbeing.
The heads of house will also welcome you and introduce
you to all the girls; they will also be available to chat, and
help you overcome any concerns you might have. So in
a nutshell, you will meet lots of staff ready to make your
boarding experience at Kernick positive and enjoyable. In
addition you will make lots of new friends with whom to
have fun and make great memories.
