“For just as each of us
has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one
body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
Romans 12:4-5 NIV
Over the past weeks I have had many discussions with Mike Potter, the CEO of the Tyndale Group in Adelaide and his team regarding the partner ship we are forming with Tyndale and how this mutually benefits our schools and the students in them.
As a Christian school, we have both had the opportunity to discuss our motives for this change and are all in agreeance that in joining the Tyndale group, we are not just improving what we offer from an educational and staffing perspective, but we are able to form a body of like minded Christian schools, with a vision and mission to serve our communities to further the Kingdom of God and further promote the values and morals that come with this.
Whilst we understand that not all families send their children to Christian schools just for Christian education, it is important that our families are
very aware that Christian education is our vision and mission. From Christian education, comes the values and morals of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control that our schools promote and teach. All of these values are integral to any society.
The verse above from Romans reminds us that while there are many members of the Christian community (or church) who have many different functions, we do indeed share a common bond
in our beliefs in Jesus Christ and the strengths
and giftings that God has given us. My time with the Tyndale group has allowed me to see that in joining this larger body, our school and the Tyndale schools are strengthened as we share the different gifts and talents each school has with one another, to bring glory to our God and ensure we are delivering excellence in Christian education.
This week the Board and I met with Mike Potter, Resolve Consulting and a representative from Minter Ellison Law firm to begin creating a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between our schools before we officially become a part of the Tyndale group at the start of 2024.
This is a very exciting time for our school and over the next 6 months we will be working closely
with the Tyndale group to realign our overarching policies and centralize our mains systems. Next term we’ll be inviting to Harvest Mike Potter, CEO of the Tyndale Group, and his management team, to meet our staff and parents/guardians. Mike and his team will also spend time in the school over the remainder of the year getting to know our staff and community and sharing with us some of the benefits of being a part of the Tyndale Group of schools.
I look forward to working with the Tyndale Group and the Harvest Christian College school community as we progress our school into the next era of delivering excellence in Christian education.
