SAPOL Road Safety
During Week 6, Harvest Christian College was visited by Senior Constable First Class Dave of the South Australian Police to give some road safety advice to the students.
The Foundation to Year 3s received instruction on keeping safe near roads (Stop, Look, Listen and Think), the safety of seatbelts, wearing helmets and when to call 000.
The Year 4 to 6s also were told of the Australian Road Rules, and the appropriate use of cycles, skateboards, scooters and roller skates
The Year 7 to 9s instruction included passenger and pedestrian safety, the use of wheeled recreational vehicles and being safe around public transport.
Finally, the Year 11s and 12s were instructed in driver safety, shown crash statistics, informed of the ANCAP Safety Ratings, their responsibilities during the Schoolies Festival and when they should report an issue to police.
Harvest would like to extend a big thank you to the South Australian Police, especially officer Dave, for visting our College and providing the students with a presentation on these important topics.
