About the CFDI Program Experience
Bill Losefsky, CCDI, CFDI (Investigative Concepts, LLC – NH), “The CFDI Death Investigation certification course provides a
comprehensive compendium of forensic science, investigative techniques, and legal procedures involved in determining
the cause and manner of death. The curriculum covers all the key topics such as autopsy protocols, crime scene analysis,
forensic pathology, understanding a death certificate and toxicology. The instructors, Dean and Karen Beers are highly
experienced and well credentialed professionals in the field. They have ensured that the content is both engaging and
informative. This course is quite challenging, but the capstone project of completing actual cases is highly invaluable and
fully prepares you to be a stellar performer in this field. I would unequivocally recommend this course for the professional
investigator who wants a certification in forensic death investigation." *former law enforcement detective and police
prosecutor
Featured Case Study: Wrongful Death - Time of Death (Expert Consultation)
Our agency was retained by counsel on behalf of the family to review the official reports and
medical records of a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash involving two persons.
Both persons were intoxicated and had been served alcohol underage and while visibly
intoxicated. One occupant was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced at the scene, and a
second occupant was found by first responders, sitting against the vehicle. The occupant was
conscious, but incoherent and transported to a nearby hospital. The occupant's recollection was uncertain, however
stated their own position in the vehicle was the passenger. This was consistent with information the other occupant of
the vehicle was the owner. There were no witnesses at the scene and none had observed either person getting in the
vehicle. The decedent's time of death was reported as with the 911 call made by the surviving occupant. This is not an
unusual practice, and is not wholly accurate as a reference tool.
What were the circumstances? What was the evidence? What were the findings?

NEW! 360 / Spherical Photography
New in 2024 and available now! What is 360 / Spherical Photography? This is most commonly
used in real estate for property virtual tours. We have adapted this technique to apply to indoor
and outdoor scenes, from buildings to vehicles. We are among the first to introduce this for
investigative purposes in Colorado, and of a handful nationwide. The process can capture a
specific room or vehicle (interior and exterior), or from multiple rooms to the full building. Very
cost-effective, capture time takes minutes for a room or vehicle, and about an hour for every
1,000 square feet – all depending on the scene. Post-processing time varies depending on the scene and client needs.
