The Temple of Venus and Roma, at the east end of the Roman Forum near the
Coliseum, dates from 135 AD. The temple had two main chambers and was
dedicated to the two most prominent gods of Rome.

The Largo di Torre Argentina is the place where Julius Caesar was assassinated on
March 15, 44 BC. It’s near the Pantheon and is the location for a major bus stop and
         cat shelter.
The site once housed the Curia of Pompey, a meeting place within the larger
Pompey’s Theater. The Roman Senate was using it in the 1st century BC to hold their
meetings because the main Senate house in the Forum burned down and was being
         rebuilt.
Interestingly, Caesar was paying for the building of the new Senate building to be
named for him. He bought the farm instead. But, he was later deified and had a
temple built to him. So, he finally got a building named for him.
