Thyroid gland

Butterfly-shaped endocrine gland

• วางอยู่บริเวณ neck region

• โดยอยู่หน้าต่อ larynx และ trachea

• ประกอบด้วย

- Right lobe

- Left lobe

- Isthmus

- ในบางคนมี pyramidal lobe ยื่นออกมาจาก isthmus

Thyroid gland

ประกอบด้วยโครงสร้างที่มีรูปร่าง spherical shape เรียกว่า “thyroid follicle”

• Thyroid follicle เป็น functional unit ของ thyroid gland

• ภายในประกอบไปด้วย

-Colloid: thyroglobulin

-Thyroid epithelium
