Well by now, we know that the “Big Announcement” that Lucas and Michelle had
for us, is the extra addition to The Springs 4 x 4 park. The new “Springs Wing”.

As Robbie was in the high country, I jumped into Mel’s (Aarons) 4X4, and we
travelled to The Springs for the big announcement. We arrived at the office and
Lucas and Michelle thanked The Brisbane 4WD Club for the support that we have
shown since the inception of 4-wheel driving at The Springs and especially since

Lucas and Michelle took ownership…. no idea what the big announcement is at

this point. Lucas then took us on a drive to Love Hill and Bald knob…. Sill no idea

what the announcement is. Lucas then led us down Loopy track along the fence

line to the fire gate.……. Still no idea what the announcement was, although the

suspense was building. We then stopped at the fire gate where I video graphed

the “Big Announcement”.

Lucas thanked the 4WDing community for all the support he has received since

D taking over ownership of The Springs, and he wanted to give something back, so
W he purchased the land next to his to open a new area of the Springs for

4 4WDing….. The Springs Wing.

We did a tour of the new wing and Lucas pointed out all the possibilities and ideas

he has. Needless to say, the Springs is going to be bigger than Ben Heur. He took

B us to some of the most beautiful locations that look out over the surrounding
S mountain ranges with views as far as the eye can see. He has a plan to put in a
I huge dam where people can cool off in, an area for a stage, and beautiful flat
R areas for camping. Not forgetting the 4WDing, there will be some really cool
B tracks and lots of dry creek beds for extreme 4WD racing. So many plans…..

We then headed off to a spectacular look out for lunch and a yarn about more
plans. The Springs 4 x 4 park is looking amazing following the fire with lush grass
areas that are beautifully maintained by Michelle.

Thank you, Lucas, Michelle and Tyler, for opening your back yard for us and some
of the best 4wding in QLD.
