We set off from Alex Hills all bright eyed and bushy tailed on Friday afternoon after work.
This was going to be another wonderful weekend away with our Tribe, so what could
possibly go wrong go wrong?
We love going out to The Springs, some of us more than others, taking previous
experiences into account. On my induction weekend, our vehicle didn't make it out of the
Play Pen on its own. The long wait for the big strong tow truck to take our pretty Pink Bits
.
DMax (Maxine) home, along with our huge base station caravan, sits firmly filed away in
C
my memory bank.

Friday night was a lovely, drama free evening. The normal chit-chat around the campfire
B ensued, snacks and drinkies, with Griz unusually nodding off ever so slightly by the fire.
U
L Saturday morning brought with it many options on how one could fill one's day. The
C Drags, Mud Run, Drive up to the new area and see the splendid view, then attempt some
'stupid stuff' like Tred Hill or Beer 'O Clock Hill.
D
W Life was good. Dazee and I worked at the bottom of the Drags, sending they up 2 by 2, a
4 bit like Noah sending the animals into the ark. I loved the enthusiasm of the large, beefy
rigs eyeing each other out at the bottom, only to be beaten by a diminutive and
E
unassuming Jimny. Life was good indeed.

Once this was over, the next bit of entertainment was up hill from the Drags, to witness
B more foolishness with mud puddles (water holes) and more testosterone than I have
S
frankly seen is a long time. We perched our bottoms firmly on Maxine's tailgate, hoping to
I
be just out of range of the flying mud as the 'Foolish Ones' exited the water traps. Life was
R
still good. Very good indeed. Our household doesn't often get to witness such manly man
B
behaviour, so it was a bit of a treat for us girls. Men in the mud, what could possibly go
wrong go wrong?
Enter the first contestant. Off he goes, round here, over there, through some mud, and
whoooosh, yes he makes it out in one piece. The crowd cheers enthusiastically. They all
had a glass of water that they had to hold while going through the challenge, trying not to
spill any of it. Next one, also got through with a bit of luck.
Third or fourth bloke, well let's just say that after we all heard the thud of something
clearly dislodging from the vehicle tray we thought that he might think about retiring from
the challenge. Engaging the Manly Man Testosterone level of the contestant and retiring
is clearly not an option even remotely on his horizon. Clunkety Clunk, and off he goes
again, over the next bump, and then another CLUNK, and a SPLASH. What could possibly
go wrong? Nothing clearly as he proceeds to attempt the big exit (not quite as
monumental as the Himalayas, but certainly up there when in the mud)
