Queen City Storms Image & Philosophy

Queen City Storm Mission Statement:
To provide a reputable cheer program that is recognized as being athlete centered, age appropriate, and fun. Where athletes are developing skills to help them make decisions to become happy, healthy, responsible adults.
QC Storm Philosophies:
1. Culture: Offer a positive and age appropriate environment for teaching and performing in the competitive cheerleading industry. 2. Safety: is our highest priority. We teach skills in progressions with proper technique to ensure safety and least risk for injury.
3. Competitions: We focus on each team’s performance, not their competition placement. 1st place is great, but it doesn’t mean as
much if their performance wasn’t the best of their ability.
4. Goal Setting: We help athletes set realistic goals for the team and themselves. We teach them the benefits of hard work with the
accomplishment of reaching their goal. Success does not come without planning, hard work, and a little sacrifice.
We Operate With:
Unconditional Respect
Trustworthiness & Integrity
Collaboration & Teamwork
Openness & Directness in Communication Perpetual Growth & Initiative
Balance

Our Image

Uniform: Our appearance and image is clean, athletic, and age appropriate. We compete in full length & full coverage uniforms and
practice wear. See Team Practice & Team Competition Information

Choreography & Music: Our choreography and music is age appropriate. Skills we perform are those that the athletes have mastered
to ensure safety and is never distasteful.

Athletes & Parents: Queen City Storm strives to present themselves as upstanding and talented. We encourage all our QCS athletes &
parents to cheer on other teams at competitions as well as each other. We ask all parents to be respectful to other teams
within Queen City Storm and those that we encounter at competitions. You represent us as well!

How Are Teams Selected?
Squads are created with many factors in mind:
 - The squad’s need

- Athlete’s age & cheer experience

- Tumbling & stunting skill (Placement is NOT strictly based on tumbling. Stunting and Mental readiness are factors)
 - With intention of creating the most successful team.

Safety & Avoiding Burn Out!

It is necessary to understand that our first priority is safety and continuing success of each squad!

Mobility between levels: It is not uncommon to spend 2-3 years in each level. Athletes that rush through the first two levels sometimes experience greater frustration, added pressure on themselves, and can experience burn out.
*All team placement decisions are made by the coaches and the coaches only.
