BIRDS RULE - OK !
That night, Tom told Angie and Charles all about his adventures at Pony Club. He made it sound hilarious and soon they were all in stitches. Angie came in to Saffron’s bedroom before she went to sleep.
‘Tom enjoyed himself today. He said his parents never let their boys do anything exciting like that, they only cared about their marks at school. Tom loves animals, but they didn't let him have one, not even a goldfish. He's so proud of your riding. I'm glad he's found a way to share it. You know ... life's knocked him around a lot ...'
'Yes, I know.'
'Well ... and how about you? Did you enjoy Pony Club? It's funny, I didn't think it would have been your scene.’
‘It’s O.K. It's a bit snobby, but there are cool people too. I’ve got some friends there now and I enjoy competing with the others. Angie ... I was so angry with you when you made our family move. I know it was your idea. I just thought this place was the pits ... a one-horse-town ...’
Saffron stopped and burst out laughing. ‘It is a one-horse- town ... I own the horse! ... Magic’s ace Ange, you should have seen how she flew ‘round the barrels - and we didn’t knock a single pole. I couldn’t do anything like that in the city. Your plan was right all along!’
