What we did as a community

Every month, the D/FW MSDC showed growth in membership certifications. The
MBEIC leadership team attended every monthly orientation meeting to greet
new members and explain the MBEIC's role and responsibility. The MBEIC
leadership helped explain and answer questions about MBEIC.

The Industry Groups continued to be a key differentiator throughout the network.
Industry groups were formed based on the demographics of our area and where
opportunities exist. Their purpose is to keep our certified suppliers abreast of key
trends and opportunities within their respective industries. Each group decides
the frequency of their sessions. Outline below are they Industry Groups and their
respective companies:

Ÿ Wanda Grainier – Professional Services Industry Group (PSIG) Chair and
President and Founder of Bridgework Partners.

Ÿ Pamela Nelson – Healthcare Industry Group (HIG) Chair and President &
          CEO of Bracane Company.

Ÿ Joe N. James – Construction Industry Group (CIG) Chair and President and
          CEO of L-Sync Logistics

Ÿ DeNita Quinn – Marketing Industry Group (MIG) Chair and President of
          Achieve PR

Ÿ Ralph Harper – IT Industry Group (I/TIG) Chair & President of DEPLOYIT, Inc
We are seeing change in industries that are driving growth in our area. In 2017
we look to make adjustments to the Industry Groups based on these trends and
opportunities as they continue to evolve. No different than our Buying Entity
Members, MBEs must be nimble and able to pivot and adjust based on emerging
growth trends and opportunities in the region. Stay tuned!

By the Numbers

The old adagio “what gets tracked and measured gets done” holds true for the
D/FW MSDC. The Council President, Margo J. Posey, and Board Chairman,
James Mining, work with board members and the MBEIC leadership team to
drive results and provide stakeholders the best information and data available in
order to keep our community vibrant and growing during difficult times. That is
why the Council achieved “Council of the Year” twice in the past four years the
award was presented – 2011 and again in 2015! We are proud of what we have
achieved, but there's much more to do in 2017.

The following are highlights of various programs the MBEIC has achieved in
concert with the Industry Groups, partnering with the SDPWG, and working with
the ISCWG .
