1          FOREHEAD
                           AUGMENTATION






           Introduction


           For females, an ideal forehead shape is characterised by a smooth, convex shape (Figure 1). For males, a straight, sharp
           forehead appearance is desirable (Figure 1). Depression of the forehead is very common in Asian patients. Patients
           can present with uneven forehead curvature, due to visible depression in the central and lateral forehead areas (often
           in the lower two-thirds of the forehead).

           Defining the injection area for forehead augmentation


           The forehead (Figure 2) is defined as the area between the temporal crest on either side. Forehead augmentation
           typically involves injections across multiple points in this area.
           •  Locate the temporal crest by asking the patient to clench their teeth; this reveals the bulge of the temporalis muscle.
           •  The most anterior part of this bulge is the temporal crest.
