Have you ever greeted your friend when you ran into each other? and also to
your teachers or lecturers at school, right? Then, what kind of greeting do you
usually do, maybe like good morning, good afternoon, light greetings like hello or

hi. These are examples of greeting expressions. In everyday life, there are two
different types of greetings, formal and informal. These two greetings were used
at different times and addressed different people.

If we do greetings, surely, we will do closing greetings or say goodbye. If so, you
must have said goodbye or see you later, right? So, do you know what kind of
expression it belongs to? The saying goodbye we do is called leave-taking in

English. Just like greetings, there are also two types of leave-taking expressions,
there are formal and informal leave-taking.
