PLAN OF CHICAGO (1909)
The idea “lungs of the city“ was born as Chicago has entered a
new era aiming for a higher quality of life rather than a
higher quality of population
The city wanted to introduce three lane corrodes, green parks,
as well as push the idea of a Boulevard that gets waived
within the city’s urban fabric. The city is ultimate goal was to
push people into living in the downtown targeting a better
economy foundation to the city.
As time receded and population increased people started looking
to moving out of the city and targeted suburban areas. People
were looking for homes with spacious layouts as well as fused
to nature and being close to nature such as the great lakes
surrounding the city.
In 1860 to 1951 The recreation of natural spaces began as people
started to introduce new design ideas that was developed in
Europe.
