The outstanding accomplishments of the local
business community took centre stage at the
Cambridge Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business
Excellence Awards.
The awards were presented in front of a sold-out crowd of
more than 300 business leaders and Cambridge/Township of
North Dumfries officials at Tapestry Hall in May.
The Business Excellence Awards is the Chamber’s premier
event and has honoured the contributions and achievements
of business leaders in the City of Cambridge and Township of
North Dumfries since 2000, and features 11 award categories,
nine of whom require nominations. In total, nearly 70
nominations were received.

Community Impact Award:
Kevin Zimic of Cambridge Ford
(formerly Ridgehill Ford)
As a successful local business
leader, Kevin Zimic continually
makes his mark in the automotive
sector but also continues to be a
strong advocate and proponent of
the Cambridge Memorial Hospital
Foundation which he connected with
soon after arriving here in 2011. In 2012, he began sponsoring a
variety of CMHF initiatives, including Trees for Caring, the Golf
Classic, Best Bites, and various community dinners. He also has
served as the CMH Foundation Board Vice-Chair and as the co-
chair of the very successful $10 million #WeCareCMH campaign.
He is also one of the Foundation’s ‘Caring Business’ donors and
in 2019 pledged $50,000 to the cause over several years. Kevin
is a community champion who continues to make an impact.

have created a welcoming environment by getting to know their
customers’ wants the minute they walk through the door. This
attention to detail has helped Java Jax achieve a major sales
increase in 2023. With the development of a new corporate
catering line last year, this family-run business is poised for
even more success thanks to the owners’ commitment to hard
work and helping the community.
