This will release a small amount of hydraulic fluid,
thus releasing the pressure in the pipe.
Connection should now be made easier.
If not defect the pipe with the transport office.
Note 2. Suspension.
Lowering the suspension before separating the unit from the trailer whilst coupling up or
uncoupling the trailer will prevent any damage to the trailer legs.
Note 3. A Systematic Procedure.
Coupling up to a trailer or uncoupling from a trailer must be carried out correctly and in a systematic
order. Drivers need to become familiar with either of the two procedures listed above. During the RASSoW - 04Q
process of coupling or uncoupling if the driver is interrupted or distracted away from the Coupling up and
task in hand then he or she should take a moment before returning to the task and gather uncoupling Operations
their thoughts and then re-address the procedure. This will prevent the driver from
making mistakes and forgetting aspects of the coupling or Review Dates:
