Mid UK Recycling Driver Risk Assessment & Safe System of Work
During Windy Conditions.
Vehicles MUST travel on the public highway with the storm bars and straps
secured and in place and only disconnected prior to un-sheeting. When un-
sheeting in the wind DO NOT open the sheet against the wind. Always try and
open the sheet under cover (in a Shed) if possible, or as a last resort open the
sheet downwind.
Climbing the Trailer Gantry.
Under NO circumstances are drivers to climb up the trailer
gantry or any other part of the trailer.
If a driver identifies an issue with the trailer Sheet after
loading or suspects that there may be debris on top of the
trailer sheet, then he / she is to address this with the loader
and if this can't be resolved then the driver is to contact the
transport office and explain the issue. HSF18
