Encouraging Words

Hello Parker Co. 4-H,

My name is Emily Meals, and I am currently serving as one of your Parker County 4-H
ambassadors. I have a few things already planned for this upcoming year, but I want to do
something special. Each month I am planning on completing a series, “Encouraging Words.”
Being a senior in high school, just like many of you, I am reaching the step into the “real
world.” So take my words of advice with you through life, and let's make this world a better
place.

November; a month-long reminder to remain thankful for the things in our lives that make it
uniquely ours. Thanksgiving is a holiday we often think of revolving around food and football,
but if we take pause and choose to see, it’s actually about family and friends and being
grateful for the people and experiences in your life. It is important to remember to be
thankful for what we have as it is oftentimes easy to be unappreciative, or just not put much
thought into what makes our lives so great. Motivational speaker and Entrepreneur, Jim Rohn
once said, “Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while you pursue all that you
want.”
