most chronic illnesses, including cancer. It’s important to understand
what insulin actually does inside your body. Then we will look at how it
affects cancer on a monumental scale.
Insulin is a hormone produced by your pancreas, a flat, pear-shaped
organ under your left rib cage.
When glucose in the form of
sugars or carbohydrates spike in
your blood, a signal is sent to
your pancreas to release
insulin. Insulin’s main job is to
transport the glucose from your
bloodstream into your cells, so
your cells have fuel. Using a
restaurant as an illustration,
your pancreas is like the
kitchen, your insulin is like the waiter and the table is like the cell. In a
healthy, balanced body, this process is flawless; everything works as it
should, and your cells are fed and happy.
However, there is a big problem when there is a prolonged
overabundance of glucose in the blood, especially when it comes to
cancer. Over time, cells become resistant to the effects of insulin,
which is trying to continually dump more fuel into them. This is called
insulin resistance. The signaling

production gets blocked and your
