For me, fasting has been instrumental in changing my “perspective” of

life and food. It has also shown me the most effective way to extend

life, promote longevity and rejuvenation, avoid illness, strengthen my
immune system, and promote new stem cells naturally. I’d like to say I

have perfected this, but realistically, it took me 48 years of living one

way and the last 5 years trying to unlearn it, so it’s a work in progress.

This word “perspective” can be one of your most powerful allies in
               fighting cancer and being able

               to successfully fast. The WAY

               WE LOOK AT THINGS can
make us or break us. You see,

what goes on in your head,

even in the fight to survive
               cancer, is extremely profound.

In fact, it is so profound that as

we learned earlier in this book, your body will respond physiologically
to your emotions. For example, if we have been diagnosed with cancer

and naturally respond with great fear, our body will release adrenaline,

cortisol, lactic acid, and a host of other hormones that will actually
harm our ability to fight cancer. Keeping the right perspective is

critical. Here is an illustration to help you see the difference and how
you can be successful at a long-term fast that seems impossible.

               Illustration: “Starving or Fasting”
There are two very similar persons around the same age and body

weight. Both have gone 15 days without a single bite of food, and both
               want to desperately eat.  Yet, both have reacted totally differently;

their countenance is completely opposite. When one is convinced he is

starving, he becomes fragile and vulnerable, desperate, and
