you decide to move in and enjoy your new home. There are a few
problems though. Your plumbing system seems like it was not tied in
correctly to the main sewer line because every time you flush the toilet,
it backs up and you start to smell bad odors. In due time, your
plumbing problem gets worse and starts to back flow into the home.
Using the toilet, sinks, or tub only causes more filth in your once-new
home. It doesn’t matter how strong your foundation of the home is, or
how nice your windows and doors are or how beautiful your roof looks,
because the home will become toxic and unhabitable!
Let us see what makes the most sense to correct the situation. Here are
two options:
1) A handyman is called; he comes to your home and says, “I’m going
to plunger all the traps and spray Lysol
on all floors so it can keep the smell
down and you will be just fine.” After
a while, things get worse and he comes
back and says, “I think I have figured it
out, I have to take all of the plumbing
fixtures out because it seems they are not working properly.” It will cost
$20,000 and while there, he gives you a new mop and bucket to simply
try and contain the mess. Is the real problem your fixtures or the
smell? NO! Those are simply the “symptoms” of the real problem, yet
it’s being completely overlooked, and you paid an enormous amount of
money for nothing.
2) You realize something must have been hooked up incorrectly, you
call your builder to fix the problem and he figures out that he needs to
reconnect the waste line, as it was connected incorrectly. He has his
