Build-A-Boat Races

1st Tee Time @ 8am
Poolside Café opens @ 9am
Lounge opens @ 11am
Pool opens @ noon
Make a flag for your vessel @ 12:30pm
Build-a-boat begins at 1:30pm
Race your creations at 2:30pm

Build-a-Boat teams will have an hour on the
events lawn to create their own boat, using
cardboard, markers and duct tape. Once the
parade of boats is complete each team will
paddle their boat across the pool. The three
fastest times will then compete head-to-head
in a race across the pool.

This event is free of charge and pool rules/
hours will remain the same throughout the
day, except during the actual race (pool will
be cleared of swimmers so the race may take place). So bring the family, your racing
spirit and extra duct tape!

Build-A-Boat Guidelines
 The only materials allowed to build the boat are cardboard and duct tape. The
club’s supply is very limited and
must be shared, so you are wel-
come to bring your own if you like.
 The only means of propulsion will
be hands or oars made out of
cardboard and duct tape. You are
not allowed to “push” the boat by
means of having your legs/feet
hanging out and “kicking”.
 Other floatation devices such as
kick boards, noodles and the like,
will not be allowed.
