The 2019 East Cork Visitors’ Guide Launched
Thursday saw the launch of the 2019 East Cork Visitors’ Guide at Cork International
Airport.
The East Cork Visitors’ Guide – now in its second year, and bigger & better than
ever - is a unique publication that celebrates the cultural, historical, social, tourism
and commercial aspects of East Cork, highlighting its diverse wealth of amenities for
the discerning visitor.
The guide is supported by a fully comprehensive website - www.eastcork.ie - where
a downloadable PDF of the guide will be available for tourists to download shortly
after the launch.
The website - which is available to view in eight different languages - has been
custom-made and adapted for use on smartphones, tablets and desktop PCs and
contains additional information about what makes East Cork a must-visit destina-
tion.
The East Cork Visitors’ Guide was created and printed by Youghal-based print
company, Flanagan Print. Ger Flanagan, owner of Flanagan Print and Chairman of
the Youghal Business Alliance, told the assembled crowds, ‘We are delighted to be
launching the second, annual East Cork Visitors’ Guide – which is packed full of
information for tourists and East Corkonians alike. This 100 page, full-colour, glossy
A4 guide offers a wealth of information on what to do, where to stay, where to wine
and dine and – in short – how to spend your time in East Cork, whether visiting for
business, pleasure or a combination of both.’
He added, ‘The 2019 guide’s aim is to showcase East Cork’s myriad activities, shop-
ping opportunities, dining options and wealth of amenities, beautifully illustrating
everything that is enticing, engaging and extraordinary about East Cork. And, in
2019, with East Cork proud to be hosting IRONMAN Ireland, Cork, we’re delighted
to be welcoming more visitors than ever before to the region as this prestigious,
international event arrives this June.’
Located close to Cork International Airport, East Cork is the gateway to both of
Fáilte Ireland’s International Tourism Initiatives - the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s
Ancient East.
With an almost limitless range of fantastic attractions and tourist offerings, the aim
of the guide is not just to entice visitors, but to keep them coming back for more!
Kevin Cullinane, Head of Communications at Cork International Airport performed
the official launch, joined by Stephen Belton, President of Midleton & Area Chamber;
David Stanton T.D.; Cllr. Susan McCarthy, invited guests and local dignitaries.
The launch saw numerous East Cork service providers show exactly what makes
East Cork great: from local food producers, to family entertainment, five-star ac-
commodation and award-winning tourist attractions.
