Relevant Practice Description: Students will be provided
with:
• a script,
• a puppet, and
• video equipment.
For feedback, they will review (with a coach) a videotape of
their performance.
Content derivation: Having completed modules involving
practice in the sub-skills, students now enter the module that
will teach them to act out scripts.Why aren’t they ready to prac-
tice as soon as they enter the module? They already know how
to read, how to produce a voice for the puppet, how to speak
using lip control, and how to manipulate the puppet’s controls.
So why aren’t they ready to practice acting out a script?
They’re not quite ready to practice because they may not
know how to recognize correct performance when they see
and hear it; that is, they may not yet be able to recognize a
properly acted script. Any other reason they aren’t ready to
practice? None whatever. This is what a module to teach this
objective would contain:
