                                    SAINT AUBIN, SANTENAY, LES MARANGES
A close neighbour of Montrachet, lying between Chassagne and Puligny, Saint-Aubin is a wine-growing village in the southern
part of the Côte de Beaune, the heartland of the great white Bourgogne wines. The area covered by the appellation Village
                                                includes 30 Premiers Cru Climats.
Santenay, lying at the southern extremity of the Côte de Beaune, is home to both the nymph of water and the god of wine: it is
both a spa and a winegrowing centre. The wines of Santenay and neighbouring Remigny present discernible differences according
to which part of the appellation they hail from. This appellation includes 12 Premiers Crus Climats.
The Maranges area, which grows mainly Pinot Noir plus some Chardonnay, forms a link between the Côte-d’Or and the Saône-et-
Loire. Its vineyards are interlocked with those of neighbouring Santenay, with which it shares some well-thought-of Premiers
Crus. Maranges was granted its own AOC Village in 1988 covering the three villages of Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-
Maranges and Sampigny-lès-Maranges. It includes 7 Premiers Crus Climats.
