Ch. Malmaison
         Located in the Moulis-en-Médoc
appellation, is one of the oldest
estates in the Medoc. Grapes have
been grown here since the Middle
         Ages. This property, which adjoins
         Château Clarke, was purchased by
Baron de Rothschild in 1978. Thanks
to his impetus, the vineyard was
restored to its former glory. The LEFT BANK (cont)
vineyard now covers 33 hectares of
clay limestone soil, ideal for Merlot.
         Château Malmaison allies delicacy,
suppleness and elegance with a rich
         and fruity bouquet.

is mainly made up of surface gravel
on top of a clay subsoil, which
         contributes to optimal ripeness and
freshness in our two grape varieties,
         Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
         Château d’Issan expresses the
         exquisite bouquet so characteristic of
         Margaux.

Paul Zuger and his son, Roger, (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot )
purchased the chateau, located in the
middle of the town of Margaux, in
June 1955. The 45-hectare estate has
23.5 hectares of vines on a fine
terroir that “overlooks the river” –
indicative of the best vineyard sites.

         that would make Château Margaux
