This article cannot be written without a few thankyous to
those who have been a continual part of this journey. Steph,
Laura, Tom, Grace, Chris, Jasper, Rhea and Susan – thank you
for caring as much as me. Dr Powell, Ms Cadorel and Mrs
Davies – thank you for supporting and guiding us. The entire
tutor and staff team – thank you for engaging with the student
club. The College Council – thank you for sharing your
meetings and ensuring there is a College for the student club
to exist under and finally the Student Club of 2014 – thank
you for engaging with College life and for providing constant
inspiration. I was fortunate enough to work alongside some of
the most amazing people and I can only hope that time will
allow us to remain close.
My time at JCH has been an amazing ride and unlike theme
park roller coasters, it’s not something I particularly want to
get off.

The JCH student club is a bustling place. Believe me when
I say the above is just a taste of 2014. To document all the
events and spontaneous happenings would require a novel
and I am so thankful that I got to be a part of it. The student
club is thriving and I hope that the closeness of the staff, senior
common room and junior common room means that the
energy will only continue to increase.
College is a place that taught me just how well rocket and
pear go together, that porridge is delightful and sunny side up
eggs on vegemite toast makes for the perfect breakfast. I got
to watch some amazing performers and have some fabulous
discussions. I participated in an enormous variety of sports and
now truly appreciate the value of having fairy lights in your
room. While I’m not sure how I’ll go without my study-rose so
kindly gifted to every student at the start of each exam period,
I know that my time at JCH has prepared me for post-graduate
study and beyond.
