•Corry Kooy was born at 19-10-1960 Schoonhoven, the Netherlands

•She grew up in the green centre of the Netherlands. So there is a lot of nature and farms in the neighbourhood.
She is inspired by all the animals there: She works 'en plein air' and uses pastels to try to catch the movement of the
animals in the open field or on the farm.
•Corry likes movement and dance. Her inspiration comes from dancers and musicians. During flamenco,
Caribbean and African music performances she makes sketches which she uses in the studio for pastels and oilpaintings.
•She won in the Mall Galleries the Cross Gate Award,
Frank Herring award, in Holland the won the Green heart award In England the Patchings award
