The Department of Traditional Painting at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage is
researching traditional painting techniques for the proper transmission and development of traditional
culture handed down from ancient times. In addition, in the process of globalization, we want to grow as
an independent leader in Korean art and culture.

Now that digital technology and art are being integrated, learning paintings from hundreds of years ago
is a tedious and exhausted journey that requires constant training. Nevertheless, we gathered together our
enthusiasm and earnest heart to carry on the tradition.

I hope that 「Korean Traditional Paintings by Promising Painters」, which will be held in the United Arab
Emirates, will be a valuable time to introduce the essence of traditional painting reinterpreted by the
young generation to the Middle East culture.

Hopefully, this exhibition will serve as a starting point for promoting the development of tradition and
suggesting the direction of various cultural exchanges.

Please keep a gentle eye on the passion of the artists who constantly ask questions about tradition and
respond with new perspectives.

Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the hard work and support of the many people
who worked hard to host the exhibition.
