사랑

한국의 전통 도자기는 지혜롭고 슬기로운 장인 정신에 의해 만들어졌다. 그 속에는 한국인의 혼이 담겨있다. 그 단아하고 영롱한 자태는 우
리 민족의 살아있는 모습이다. 작품은 한련화가 활짝 핀 정원에서 두 사람이 마주 앉아있다. 우주와 자연에 대한 이야기를 하고 있다. 인생
살이와 사랑에 대한 이야기도 나눈다. 크고 작은 대소의 비유, 음양의 조화, 채워져 있는 병과 비어있는 잔은 율동같이 꿈틀거리는 움직임
을 보여준다. 이미지를 고향으로 옮겨보면 도자기 속에 있는 한련화들은 작가의 어렸을 때 고향집 장독대와 그 주변에 만개했던 꽃들이다.

Love

Traditional Korean ceramics are made by wise and discreet craftsmanship. The soul of Koreans is contained in it. Its graceful
and elegant figure is the living image of our nation. In the work, two people sit face to face in a garden full of nasturtium
flowers. They are talking about the universe and nature. They also talk about life and love. The metaphor of big and small,
the harmony of yin and yang, filled bottles and empty cups show a wriggling motion like a rhythmic movement. If we relate
the image to hometown, the painting of nasturtium in ceramics are the flowers in full bloom around the Jangdokdae in
the artist’s hometown. Jangdokdae is a place in the backyard where rows of traditional earthen jars stationed to age home-
made soy sauce, soybean paste year around and Kimchi in winter.
