Jin-Ja Lee tried different things to
give motion to sculptures whose
traditional concept required it to
be motionless. Even though the
woman’s body doesn’t move in
<Korean Dancer>, it expresses
movement through the patterns
in the base part and the crease at
the end of the skirt. It is to present
the pure beauty of sculpture with
simplified & volumed form and
by adding decorations on the
exaggeratedly curved surface.
