Congratulatory Message for 5 Tong Festival
Greetings, everyone.
Summer is passing us now, and we are at the door of fall to have colored surroundings. And I would like
to heartily congratulate the opening of the 5 Tong Festival.
First, I would like to express my gratitude to the president of Sehan University, Mr. sung Hoon Lee, and

everyone from the school who has prepared this event since the hot summer for the 5 Tong Festival to
be held successfully and go smoothly in spite of the difficult situations.
I’m also very grateful for Prof. Wolfgang Johannes Bandion, and David Christopher Panzl for paying
us a visit from Austria for the event , and for Maureen Kaegi and Gerhard Himmer for sending us their
invaluable art works.
This event is not just a performance, but it is a place to exchange cultures, sharing artistic senses
between Austria and Yesan-gun.
It is a true honor to get to build a good foundation for long-lasting relationships and to have an
opportunity to communicate through contemporary art and music with Austria, the home country of

classical music and where music’s played endlessly throughout the year.
Once more, I appreciate everyone involved for working hard for the opening of 2022’s 5 Tong Festival,
and I ask for your continuous efforts as a whole to make Yesan-gun “Austria in Korea” through various
activities for culture & art exchange.
