VIRTUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY
AND PSYCHOLOGY BREAKOUT
SESSION 2021

Achievements through pandemic!
Southville International School and Colleges celebrated Virtual General Assembly last
February 10, 2021. The assembly's purpose is to welcome and orient new college students,
announce the school activities for the academic year, highlight the students with
academic excellence for the last and present academic year, and give academic and non-
academic reminders to all students. The assembly was hosted by Dr. Rene Aligonero and
Ms. Anna Villaruz, and to formally start the event, Dr. Jocelyn Tizon, the SISC President
gave the opening remarks. The school events and activities were presented by Ms. Jorge
Balela, the academic reminders were delivered by the school registrar, Ms. Mary Joy
Martinez, Student Ambassadorship program was presented by Dr. Rene Aligonero, and
the Counseling services and TOEIC assessments were presented by Ms. Belen Mandin
and the invited guest from Hopkins. Another highlight of the event was the awarding of
the Top 10 students of SISC college and two from BS Psychology were awarded; Ms. Jodi
Sta. Maria (Top 4) and Ms. Patricia Alasco (Top 3). Dr. Felma Tria, the College Director,
concluded the event and delivered her closing remarks.
The breakout session happened on the afternoon (1 PM) and was hosted by the second
year Psychology students; Ethan Godwin and Louis Haban. The opening remarks was
delivered by the School Counselor, Ms. Belen Mandin. Dr. Ruel Cajili, the Psychology
Dean, also delivered the events of the course and its programs. The list of the faculty
members and the new sets of Psychology Society Officers were also announced. To spice
up the event one celebrity student of Psychology, Mika Dela Cruz performed a song with
Nash Aguas for the intermission number. Psychology students who performed academic
excellence for the second semester of last academic year and for the first semester of the
present academic year were awarded. The certificates for the Top Psychology and Dean’s
Lister students were presented to give tribute for their diligence and grit. Another
intermission number from Eliza Marie McGee, the Psychology’s newest singer, was
performed. Of course all events wouldn’t be completed without games and so Psych Soc
officers and other students hosted different online games that students participated. The
breakout session ended after the closing remarks of Dr. Sam Galvez and a photo
opportunity for the event’s participants.
Pandemic has brought many changes and challenges, but SISC Psychology Family always
makes sure that everyone feels connected to one another and this Pandemic will not stop
the students from learning and performing excellently.
