          Spreading love across distance!

FEBRUARY - a month we all welcome with open hearts! As January ends, we come across
a fresh month, a month which is termed as the 'love month' since every 14th of this month

we celebrate love and affection through "Valentines day'. This is not just to celebrate love
with a significant others or as a couple but most importantly bringing together your loved
ones - family, friends, close fellows, and showing care and concern in our own innovative

ways, in our respective homes or through virtual meetings due to this pandemic. More
so, it is on this month where Psychology Society offers several activities to take part on

this special occasion just like selling sweets and delicacies, 'harana' services and of course
the yearly 'PaLOVE us' segment which composes of film showing relating LOVE across all
sort of relationships. Unfortunately since the pandemic had place all of us in quarantine
and online classes, the activities were all limited and some were even halted. However,

the pandemic may have placed distance between us, but this has not stopped the
Psychology Society to make ways, cross borders, gather the Psychology family and spread

          love.
On the 11th of February, 2021 at 5:45 in the afternoon, the Psychology society gave a fresh
new experience for all the Psychology family by planning a Virtual PaLoveUs film

Showing. It may have sound complex, but Love conquers all so the officers, headed by
President Vianne Jiwatramani, with Psychology Society moderator Ms. Dianna Imperio &
Ms. Marinela Paulino and Psychology Dean Dr. Ruel Cajili, carefully outlined the event.

The main platform utilized to deliver a smooth flow of the movie was Discord, a desktop
or mobile application designed to create communities with FB messenger-like features
where we can communicate through voice calls, text messaging, media files as part of

private chats or 'servers'. The film showing covered both local and a foreign movie which
are 'Four sisters before the wedding', Filipino comedy-drama Star cinema film, and 'Soul'
an animated Disney movie. The event was well attended by the Psychology family from

Freshmen to graduating students, along with deans and professors, where the chat rooms
and channels created prior the event were helpful enough to check attendance, allow
photo opportunity, and gather responses and feedbacks especially the impact of the

          movies.
Even when tough times hit us, we will not be hindered by anything to connect with our
love ones in any form. Just like how 'Four sisters before the wedding' entails the value of

family, and how 'Soul' tells us what life is without purpose, we should learn to value every
single thing and create purpose and meaning in life.
