THE JOURNEY BEGINS.....

As the dairy industry continues to embrace change, DWN Business Groups
provide small-group environments for people to learn new skills and tools that
help them to prepare their businesses for the future. Members are able to build
their knowledge on a range of topics, from farming and business to health,
wellbeing, leadership and personal development. The focus of each monthly
meeting is chosen by the members of the group to ensure that they are getting
value out of their time together. Meetings can include discussion, field trips, social
              activities or guest speakers.

Each DWN Business Group is diverse, with a range of backgrounds and
perspectives. This inclusion of different stages of the farming journey creates
unique insights and solutions to real and relevant issues, facilitated by a DWN
              Business Group Leader.

Who is a DWN Business Group Leader?

A DWN Business Group Leader understands the culture, values, purpose and
vision of Dairy Women’s Network, gained through a previously held or current
role with the organisation. Taking the next step in the DWN leadership pathway,
you will combine your personal and professional development to coordinate the
DWN Business Group, facilitate monthly meetings, prepare the agenda for each
meeting and encourage and support the rest of the group on their individual
              farming journeys.

It’s a good idea to have someone in the group who is able to help them advise,
assist, mentor, coach, sense check and facilitate. These could be equal co-leader
roles, or one may act as a support for the other.

“I love the connection; I can’t wait to catch up every month. It gives
                                              me a sense of belonging”
                                        Paula Crafar, Dairy Farmer, Reporoa

“The gold is in the room”
Cathy Brown - Dairy Farmer, Galatea and former Dairy Women’s
                                                     Network Chair

“This is the perfect group, I love the mentoring I get from others”
Astra-Lee Burrows – Dairy Farmer, Matamata
